I am Crystal Morris, a Monticello, Indiana based photographer with a huge heart and a creative mind. I am so happy that you have taken the time to stop by and view my page. I genuinely love what I do and refuse to stop learning, improving, and perfecting my work. I am a wife to a wonderful husband who coaches our kids’ sports and coaches me through life with all that he is. We are a blended family of 3 girls and 1 boy, and I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.
Now I will introduce you to a bit of a personal side of myself and what led me to pursuing photography.
You may not be able to tell by looking at my work, but my passion for photography came from a deep dark place of heartache and loss. I lost my father to acute myeloid leukemia in 2016, just shy of 2 months after my wedding day. He fought a long battle and it was a very hard time in my life. Losing him made me realize the importance of capturing life’s beautiful moments.
The following Mother’s Day my husband gifted me with my very first Nikon. I picked it up and started to learn how to use it. I took hundreds of pictures of our 4 kids playing sports and doing activities. I slowly started to feel more like myself. I bought new lenses, studied, shot, progressed, and even eventually upgraded my camera body. I started to book family photography sessions and weddings, even newborns and maternity.
The road to success has been a never-ending battle.
This life is full of twists, turns, and detours, but that’s how we learn, grow, and succeed. When I meet clients I want to know their stories. It is important that we develop a friendship so that I can deliver the most-meaningful images possible to them. It isn’t just about posing them perfectly, its about capturing the genuinely magic moments that they can only see through another’s perspective.
